MEET THE TEAM
The team concept! You must have seen this. Behind the name of the agent is the word "Team". What does this mean and how does this help you sell your home or find a new home?
I will tell you. When you phone one of these agents you will generally first speak to an unlicensed assistant. When I say unlicensed, I mean that this assistant has no Real Estate license, but is one of the "Team". His or her job is just to field calls and not deal with any Real Estate matters.
When you ask for the specific agent you are calling, this assistant will take all your info and have you called back. Guess who calls you back? Another "Team" member! This time it will be a licensed agent. How long has he or she been licensed? Usually not very long. Once they have been licensed for a while and gained all the experience and confidence they think they need, they will go off on their own. You have just become their education! You are their new "lead". The agent you originally called doesn't even know your name! If that person is not a new agent and has been around for awhile, then generally speaking, he or she is not very confident in their abilities and is afraid of trying to make it on their own without coaching. Is that the kind of representation you want?
This "Team" member, who in most cases is a new agent, is usually getting paid a very small percentage by the agent who you thought you were going to be working with. He or she attends regular sales meetings put on by the head agent. The goal of these meetings is motivate the "newbies" to turn their leads into sales. The head agent pushes numbers and more numbers! The presentation they learn is what we call "canned" (very rehearsed script). Sounds like a car dealership doesn't it? Who is the "newbie" working for, the head agent or you? Whose best interests does he or she have loyalty to?
WHEN YOU CALL ME YOU TALK TO ME
You are my principal, my "boss" - I only answer to you, I only work for you! I do not have a team. When you call me, you talk to me! It's that simple. That's how I have done business for over 15 years. When someone refers me, that's exactly who they get, me!
