IS THE BANK THREATENING TO FORECLOSE ON YOU SOON?
Sometimes, due to circumstances out of your control, such as a job loss, health matter, or a number of other personal issues, you may find yourself in a financial bind, one so dire, that you may no longer be able to make your mortgage payments. As hard as you try to hold on to your home, it becomes apparent that you cannot do it any longer. The first thing you feel is shame, and not prepared to speak of this, with anyone.
In fact though, the most important thing you can do, is to make sure you co-operate and communicate with your financial institution, as soon as you know of some potential trouble. As long as you do that, you will be pleasently surprised at how long the borrower will work with you, so as to avoid foreclosure. The banks dread going through this procedure as much as you do. They will suggest all kinds of remedies for you, even hang in there with you, without payment for a long period of time, sometimes many months, hoping , that your situation will change.
However, they can only do that for so long. At some point they will suggest that you either sell, or they will foreclose.
I cannot stress enough, that you should not wait for them to foreclose! Foreclosure is a terrible experience to go through, let alone the absolute destruction of your current and future credit rating!
The only smart decision you can make, is put your home on the market! You have probably made some equity in your home since you purchased it, at least you will have that. If you call me for this, I can assure you that I will be working for your best interest not the Bank's, which is exactly what happens if they foreclose. You see, once they foreclose, you have no more say. The Bank hires the Realtor, the bank decides how much they sell it for, and as long as they get their money out of it, they don't care about your equity.
